My best mate

I have spent the last 6 months trying to re-assure my 'best mate' his marriage was sound. He was convinced his wife was having or planning to have an affair but I told him time and time again she wasn't like that and would never cheat on him.

A few weeks ago ago it all came to a head and one drunken night he threw her out of their house. I'm mates with her too so when she rang me and asked if I would let her stay the night I had to say yes.

You know what's coming don't you ?

And you would be right. Some mate I turned out to be huh ?

But it was a night to remember.

Trouble is, when I see her now I flirt outrageously with her , has caused problems with my mate. She flirts outrageously with me too, to the point where I have been barred from my local pub a couple of times just so they could keep the peace !!

She will never leave her husband, and I would never want her too as that would cause so much grief. but I can't stop the flirting and don't think she can either.

Other than my stopping drinking, which makes thinks a fair bit worse, or drink in a different pub, what do I do ?

Her husband still treats me as a mate, is getting to the stage I can't look him in the eye anymore

Dude...... SO NOT COOL. Have you ever been cheated on? If not, it is up there on the pain scale as equal to child birth, the only differance is that the pain of child birth goes away, With cheating, it continues to hurt. And of course there is the friendship that is defintally one sided, because you are certainly no friend to either one of them, Good Luck
